We hope all is well! During the month of February, the NYC Public School System recognizes Respect for All Week. We are committed to promoting respect for diversity among students and between students and staff so that all of our school community continues to feel valued, safe, and supported. From February 10-14, 2025 please join us in celebrating Respect for All week by encouraging your child participate in the following school-wide events:
Monday, February 10, 2025: Brag Tag Day: We want to make each student feels special and gets recognition by giving out a ‘brag tags’ focused on their unique positive characteristics and accomplishments. Students will be encouraged to wear their tags proudly throughout the school day.
Tuesday, February 11, 2025: Select Your Song Day: Research demonstrates that music influences behavior. Students will select a song with their class that emulates positivity. What is a song that inspires you to be your best self? Students will post a video of their class with the song title, artist, and singing or dancing to the song.
Wednesday, February 12, 2025: Bucket Filler Day: We will examine the text, “Have you Filled Your Bucket Today?” A bucket filler is someone who pours into others. Students will focus on filling up their peers buckets by creating notes based on their appreciation of their friends.
Thursday, February 13, 2025: Wear Blue Day: Respect is signified by the color blue. Have your child wear blue to show their support.
Friday, February 14, 2025: Valentine’s Day: Students will work collaboratively to create and design a class heart to be displayed with words/visuals associated with kindness and respect. Please wear a red, pink, or a Valentine’s themed outfit.
